Relapse Prevention

Repetitive abuse of drugs such as narcotics, cannabis, methamphetamine may bring on drug dependence. Those who have drug dependence can’t help abusing drugs though they want to stop it. It is said that they have considerable difficulty keeping themselves from abusing drugs only with their own will and effort once in such condition.

Narcotics Control Department has specialized staff with knowledge of drug dependence (certified psychologist, clinical psychologist, mental health social worker) who provide support to the people such as those convicted with suspended sentence without probation, and those having kept quitting drug abuse but in need of support for prevention of relapse.

Drug abuse problem may also pose a huge burden on family of support recipients and take a toll on family member’s health. Narcotics Control Department also responds to consultation from the family members suffering from support recipients’ drug abuse.
